According to the globally recognized property service industry, DTZ, office space absorption in Delhi- NCR has gone up by 11% in April- June quarter in comparison to the same period last year. The rise in the absorption is mainly due to increased demand from IT/ ITeS sector. However as compared to the last quarter the demand has dropped by 18%.The IT/ITeS sector covers the largest share of total take-up that is 81% in the 2nd Quarter as compared to 1st quarter which was 36%. The increased demand for office space in Delhi-NCR by ITeS comprised of BFSI, aviation and telecom companies. According to DTZ , the demand is expected to rise further as the corporate will be hiring more workforce with an anticipation of revival in economy.Gurgaon observed increase in the demand for office space by 5 % quarter on quarter. The demand was primarily from the IT/ITeS. On the other hand, Delhi and Noida witnessed a quarter on quarter drop. However, because of the new supply, rentals remained steady Quarter 2 in all the micro-markets.DTZ reported that rentals don’t seem to see any growth due to recent high opportunity levels and strong development in spite of probability of increase in the demand in the second of this year.According to DTZ, with respect to supply Delhi-NCR observed 75% increase in completion of projects in the 2nd Quarter as compared to the previous one.
