The civic body of Chennai is planning to urge the licensed property surveyors to upload construction site photographs, in order to acquire approvals. The corporation has asked the surveyors to upload photos of different stages of construction of the buildings as they are working on complete online process for planning and inspection approval.According to the corporation official, they have come across numerous complaints against the licensed surveyors for not conducting the construction survey appropriately. They rarely visit the construction site and approve the building plan without proper verification. The corporation wants them to conduct the survey efficiently and with that respect they have asked the surveyors to upload the pictures of construction in three different phases, base level, pillar level and roof level.The civic body gives the approval for the structures with ground plus one floor. The officials further said that many discussions in last few months have taken place with the licensed surveyors to responsibly conduct the survey but no action is seen yet.The city corporation has also decided to alter the online building plan to decline the level of bribery in this system. The revamped system will not have any human intrusion at any level of approval thus corruption rate can be curbed down.The civic body has also considering to send the copies of approved building plans to the candidate’s neighbors, in order to restrict the increasing number of building infringement in Chennai.
