This real estate firm is planning to kick off with two affordable housing projects in Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Chennai.These projects will be launched in coming 2 months and will be developed by this realtor’s new business initiative called Happinest. The company will be targeting families whose monthly income is up to Rs. 40,000. This real estate arm will be coming up with 1 or 2 bedroom residences that would be over 350 to 650 sq ft of area. Since the project falls under affordable housing scheme, the cost will be less than Rs. 20 lakh.According to the chairman of Mahindra Group, out of food, clothing and shelter, shelter that is home is an incomplete story in our country. Though the company is delivering residential units at a reasonable price, they will not compromise on the quality.The company is hoping that government would support their initiative by ensuring speedy approvals that would in turn decrease the cost as well as the development time. The real estate company will be developing the project on 15 acres of land in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Boisar and the project in Chennai will be spread across 13 acres of land.According to sources, the company has acquired most of the approvals for its Mumbai project while the environmental clearance is pending for the project in Chennai.
