According to a report presented by global property consultant, DTZ, this year the demand for office space is expected to increase by 7%. Most of the corporate sectors in the prime 7 cities are planning to expand their businesses; hence the office space absorption is likely to increase to 29 million sq ft.The absorption in 7 major cities like Delhi- NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune and Kolkata was 27 million sq ft in 2013. The report on Office demand and Trends, also predicted that the rental in first of 2014 will remain steady in most of the city markets while it will witness a rise in second half of the year. The report further added that the economy is expected to increase in generally a higher rate, this year as compared to 2013 which would finally lead to increased in demand for real estate sector. As a result, the office space absorption in likely to reach 28.9 million sq ft by this year.Mostly the office space demand will be raised due to IT/ ITs sector that would be around 40%, followed by manufacturing and BFSI segments.
