The last hope of owning a home in Bangalore has also been eventually shattered as Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has illogically decided to double the rates of flats in this city. After the sites, BDA has targeted the flats of Bangalore. People, who have won flats through lottery process, now have to pay an additional amount for these flats.The authority is planning to sell 2 BHK flats of its upcoming projects for almost Rs. 25 lakhs. About 3,000 lottery winners who were assured with flats have been sent a notice asking to pay an extra amount of Rs. 10 to 15 lakh as per the type of flat. The allotees have asked to pay around Rs. 10 lakh extra with the original flat cost of Rs. 7.5 lakh for 2 BHK flats while the people who won 3 BHK flats will be sent notice to pay an additional amount of Rs. 15 lakh.This sudden decision of BDA has put the allotees in tight position where some of them are trying to arrange the additional amount while some have left the hope of owning a flat. In fact there are few private builders who are offering better quality flats with good amenities at a bit higher price than that of BDA which is quite preferable for the homebuyers.Most of the alottees complained that this is a trick of BDA to cheat and discourage the middle class homebuyers. However the authority officials have different thing to say. According to the officials, the price of these flats has changed according to the increased cost of construction and land price.
