Haryana Government Provides a Huge Rebate on Property Tax

haryana-propoerty-taxChandigarh: The Haryana Government has announced a big relief in the property tax payments in all the municipalities of the state. The decision to provide a relief in the property tax is taken on the ahead of Lok Sabha polls which are scheduled in coming months.Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda had announced that state will provide one time rebate of 30 per cent for those owners who clear all their dues or arrears by 31 March 2014 for upto the year 2012-13. The announcement of this one time rebate was made while presiding over the state cabinet meeting.The government has also announced a rebate of ten per cent admissible to the people who would their tax for the assessment year by July 31 of respective assessment year. The cabinet decided to increase VAT on mobiles phones which have the value higher than Rs 10000, hence the current VAT of 5 per cent will be increased to 8 per cent making mobile phone more expensive.The people who would deposit their dues by March 31, 2014 for the year 2013-14 would be admissible for the ten per cent concession. The properties situated in ‘Lal Dora’ which is a part of the village habitation and comes in the limits of municipalities on or after April 1, 2010 will be give 100 per cent rebate till march 31, 2016.The chief minister also announce 50 per cent rebate on the property tax  for the petrol pumps, along with similar 50 per cent rebate in commercial space rate for the IT parks, cyber cities in all municipalities.
