Secunderabad Cantonment is planning to soon come up with mixed land use zones which would be proposed as a part of the new master plan for this area. The developed land will be utilized for residential, commercial as well as recreational purposes. The master plan or this zone will be active from 2014 to 2021.This zone currently does not have any master plan as such but it will soon be having since Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) is in talks with Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) for assistance in initiating the plan. This development authority has already prepared many such master plans, hence they have good hands of experience.According to an official source, before carrying out the master plan process, an individual market survey will be conducted in order to determine the demands for each of the category of land such as housing, office spaces, retail and for industrial usages. The area where the mix land use will be developed is spread across 10,000 acres of land out of which 27% of the land is for private purposes while the rest is government or defence plot.The officials have determined that it is vital to discover the zones that are essential for the complete development of areas. The proposed master plan will also review the existing and upcoming infrastructure facilities like roads, railways, banks, health centres, education institutes and legal services like revenue and registration offices, eSeva centres and other such social infrastructure. The officials further said that they will be soon calling HMDA for preparing the master plan.
