HUDA Issue Notices to the Plot Owners who Failed to Pay EDC

HUDAThe Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has planned to issue notices to the plot owners who did not pay the External Development Charges (EDC). The notices will be sent across to the house owners present in 15 different sectors of Gurgaon. Non-payment of EDC by the house owners was noticed by the development authority while conducting an audit review for revenue collection from the property owners. Around lakhs of rupees has been remained pending as EDC charges.The plot owners who have not paid their dues will be slapped with notices by HUDA. According to the senior official of HUDA, the residences are present in the sectors which are under the jurisdiction of Estate Office I in Gurgaon. The official also said that the house owners would receive the notice till next week and they have to take immediate action and pay the charges.In the regions under HUDA, External Development Charges are collected from the house owners and the amount is used as funds for the improvement of infrastructure or development of other public facilities. With respect to the rules of HUDA, the house owners whose plot area measures, 500 sq m will have to pay Rs. 415 as EDC charge and the plots whose area is above 500 sq m have to pay Rs. 550. HUDA will also collect 10% from the plot owners as penalty amount.The utility services including electricity will be disconnected, if the owners delay the payment. However the residents are dissatisfied by the development authority.
