affordable homesHyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Government has finally come up with a feasible housing scheme to benefit the economically weaker section (EWS) in the State. A scheme offering affordable homes on hire purchase has been launched by the Government to fulfill their housing needs. Areas like Kukatpally, Nizampet and many others will play grounds to the construction of affordable homes.The hire purchase system states that a buyer will have to pay only 40% of the total purchase amount and the remaining percentage can be settled in comfortable monthly installments. The plus point of this project is that the buyers can take possession of the flats on the payment of the initial 40%.Almost 1930 flats each with a carpet area of around 450 sq.ft will be constructed for the low income groups. 30% of the flat booking will be kept aside for women. Moreover flats will be allotted to SC/ST/BC/Handicapped and other backward classes in the proportion of 16%, 6%, 9% and 1% respectively.The Andhra Pradesh Government had long proposed a housing scheme for the low income groups. Under the new hire purchase system buyers need not have to apply for a home loan from private banks.
