Moderate or High Density Earthquake may Cause Damage to Most of the Buildings in Delhi

Delhi-buildingsThough the recent tremors may not have caused any damage but this has put forward a question whether Delhi Buildings can resist moderate or high intensity earthquakes or not? Well regrettably the answer is no. Delhi which falls under Seismic Level IV is known to an earthquake prone area. As the city is vulnerable to get attacked with this natural disaster, the government has raised a concern about the how safe the buildings are. There are over 25 lakh buildings in the national capital and majority of them are unfortunately weak to withstand high level earthquake tremors. As these buildings are not constructed under technical supervision, they have high risk to get affected by the natural disaster. However little attempts paid-off is ensuring that structures, especially high-rise towers are strong and earthquake resistant as the disaster management authority of Delhi government has took an effort to spread awareness by organizing campaigns. According to the sources, it is obligatory to get the construction certified from the structure engineer but now-a-days, it has become mere formality. Most of the builders, not even apply for the completion certificate from the civic agencies. The Civic agencies along with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) have appointed and trained engineers who will be scrutinizing the buildings and divide them into three categories collapsible, non-collapsible and others who are liable to the economic loss.According to the experts, strict and drastic measures should be taken by the government to minimize the earthquake damage. Building audits should be conducted regularly. The government and the civic agencies should also try to fix the loopholes in approving the building-plans to make it earthquake proof. Experts further suggested to retrofit the old buildings mainly which are owned privately.займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
