Bangalore: Lakhs of property owners in Bangalore will stand benefited with the new initiative taken by the Government. The property owners will finally get an ownership card emphasizing the authenticity of the owner. The property card will contain details of the Khata, tax receipts and other relevant information. The property owner cannot undertake any transaction without involving the property card. Properties in the areas like Yeshwantpur, Jayanagar, Malleswaram and Rajajinagar will be the first beneficiaries of this initiative. However initially a tender will be opened in order to take up surveys and verify documents. This will take place across 50 wards in Bangalore over the next 90 days. In-person verification will take place wherein department staffs will be at the doorsteps of the property owners to check the authenticity of the documents. Bids for the tender will be invited till the 18th of October 2013 to carry forward further processes.A recent statistics reveals that only 75 lakh properties out of the 2.75 crore are in the rural areas of the State. 20 lakh properties across 198 wards are housed in the city of Bangalore. In order to streamline property registration in Bangalore and other urban areas, this system will be brought into force.This initiative will keep a check on fraudulent activities and provide ownership security to the actual owners of the property. Moreover the property card will contain details of property boundaries, disputes, sketches which will be converted into a digital format.The property card will also assist you in taking well balanced property oriented decisions.
