A French Luxury Hotel Chain, Sofitel which is handled by Accor Group is planning to launch 10 properties in the prime destinations of India.The senior Vice-President, Asia Pacific of Sofitel Luxury Hotel said that they already have one property in India. The luxury hotel chain will be launching two more hotels under their brands, Sofitel Luxury Hotel and Sofitel So. These hotels are been developed in Mumbai. With an intention to make a total of 10 properties, the hospitality brand will be signing seven more management contracts.The company is eyeing cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Goa and Delhi for the development of these properties. Sofitel Luxury Hotel, Sofitel So, Sofitel Legend will be the three brands under which the hospitality properties will be developed. Sofitel Luxury Hotel deals with luxury hotels whereas Sofitel So concentrates on design with boutique resorts and hotels and Sofitel Legend is a private club that deals with legendary and century-old buildings.The senior vice-president added that despite of being a management contract company, it also helps the owners with funding and financial support through providing loans during the initial stages of property development. The company also provides equity investment if the property location is strategic and prime.With respect to the challenges faced by the international hospitality brands in our country, he further added that the economic condition has weakened as compared to previous years.
