Administration Inactive Against Groundwater Extraction for Construction

gurgaon-constructionGurgaon: Gurgaon district administration has banned the use of ground water for construction purposes in the last year, but many builders and developers are still flouting the rules and using the bore well water for the constructions purposes. The district administration had advised builders to use stipulated sewage treatment plant (STP) water instead of extracting ground water for the construction of buildings.Builders and developers at sectors 111, 104, 102, and Bajghara, new Palam VIhar area are extracting excess of ground water for the upcoming construction projects. The borewell water is even supplied to distant construction sites with a rate of Rs 600 to Rs 1000 for each tankers supplied for construction.Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) administrator Praveen Kumar said that the most of the areas in these sectors have a high ground water level. Extra water needs to be pumped out from the bore well site, and mostly this extra water is being used for construction purposes. But the residents did not buy the HUDA’s theory and strongly protested against the extraction of ground water for the construction.Vivek Kamboli, an environmentalist said that the Gurgaon ground water level is already on all time low and it is necessary that the administration must take sudden steps to preserve the ground water level. Administration is lacking in the manpower and resources to take action against the issue. Gurgaon district has thousands of construction sites and they are unable to handle this big issue. The administration had planned a surprises inspection of these sites, but no news of such inspections has come out.The district administration must take an action against the groundwater extraction for construction sites so that builders and developers can stop using bore well water and opt for STP water as per the administration’s advice.займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
