The most awaited affordable housing project by the Haryana government is getting good response from the builders. Almost 86 real estate developers have shown interest in developing this ambitious project. Real estate players like DLF, Emaar MGF, Raheja Developers, CHD Developers and other such reputed realty companies are planning to contribute in the development process.According to the officials, Haryana’s Town and Country Planning Department received license applications from the realtors for constructing affordable homes for which the policy was declared last month. Most of the license application for developing this project has received from Gurgaon with 50 applications followed by Sohna with 14 and 10 from Faridabad while applications from areas like Rewari, Karnal, Jhajjar, Palwal, and Nilokheri had also come.Renowned real estate companies which submitted license applications are DLF Ltd, Emaar MGF and Essel Housing at Gurgaon, CHD Developers at Karnal, Raheja Developers at Sohna and SRS Hightech projects at Faridabad.With an aim to develop affordable homes in urban areas, Haryana cabinet, last month approved affordable housing policy 2013. With respect to this policy, the state government is planning to come up with 1.25 lakh affordable housing units, each with carpet area of around 500 sq ft in the urban areas of Haryana which are developed through the capital investment of private sector within next 5 years. The maximum allocation price for the housing units under this policy is decided to be Rs. 4,000 per sq ft of carpet area in the development plans of Gurgaon, Panchkula, Faridabad and Pinjore-Kalka.
