The Secunderabad Cantonment Board will be introducing land use plan by zoning system to gather funds under central government-sponsored Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). The decision to introduce the land use plan was taken at the Cantonment Board Meeting which was held under the chairmanship of the Cantonment Board President.The Chief executive officer of the Board said that the main intention behind the introduction of the land use plan is to accumulate the funds for the development in the cantonment area under the JNNURM scheme. The Union urban development ministry with respect to this plan has issued certain strategies for preparation of land use by zoning lands into residential, commercial, semi-commercial and green zones The PCB requested the CEO to post the strategies Secunderabad Cantonment Board website within 15 days.According to the information presented by CEO regarding ward reservation for Schedule Caste (SC), the board members are ready to reserve Ward No. VIII for this category. The same ward has been reserved earlier also for SCs.The Board has also decided to allocate the land for the construction of Mahila Swashakti Bhavan and a mini stadium. The suggestion was put forward by the MLA of Secundrabad Cantonment Board. The proposal presented by the MLA stated that the municipal administration and urban development (MA and UD) departments have agreed to endorse Rs. 25 lakh for Mahila Swashakti Bhavan while for the mini stadium Rs. 2 crore will be sanctioned by the Sports Authority of India.
