Green Flag for Land Bill in Lok Sabha

lok-sabhaTo invoke courage in the commoners (specifically landowners/farmers), the Lok Sabha has given a green flag to the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Bill on Thursday. The bill would be highly supportive in motivating the landowners from whom land is acquired by the government for development purpose. In a week, two of the major bills have been passed in the Lok Sabha (Food Security Bill and LARR Bill). In a much confident scene, LARR had been passed with 216 votes to 19.The bill was framed in the year 2007; however it was always in the mode of struggle due to opposition. In 2009, UPA demanded a complete ban on forcible acquisition. Yesterday was the day of political correctness when parties joined hands along with the ideas to make sure the Bill get passed. The nod was followed by Jairam Ramesh’s (Rural Development Minister) suggestions and criticisms that were so detailed and enlightening, making the bill even confident to get passed easily in Rajya Sabha.Left and AIADMK walked out while Trinamool and Revolutionary Socialist Party resisted.
