Indian Hotels, a hospitality firm of Tata Group is planning to launch 19 new properties under the brand ‘Gateway Hotels and Resorts’. The new set of launch is a part of the expansion plan and is expected to get completed within 4 years. Indian Hotels in association with Gateway has at present 2,200 rooms and is now planning to add more 2000 rooms to its list.The Chief Operating Officer of Gateway said that they will be opening 19 new hotels across India under their brand within the financial year 2017. After these launches, the total number hotels under this brand would be 42.The company is targeting cities like Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bangalore, Raipur, NCR, Corbett Park, Gondia in Maharashtra and many other cities for their new launches. The total cost of the project depends upon the business model followed for the new hotels. Currently, Indian Hotels has 23 gateway properties across the cities of India like Agra, Bangalore, Madurai, Mangalore, Coonoor, Ernakulam, Calicut, Chikmagalur, Gir, Hubli, Surat, Vadodara, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Nasik, Varanasi and various other locations. The company recently launched a new property in Chennai. It is its 23rd property which has 198 rooms. This brand has 5 star properties and is high-class service hotels and resortsThe company is taking numerous approaches for the launch of the current set of hotels. According to the Chief Operating Officer of Gateway, the upcoming properties will be mixture of management contracts and joint ventures.
