Gujarat Government to Launch Housing Scheme For EWS and LIG

guj-govt-housingAhmedabad: The Gujarat government announced on Wednesday 17th July that it will be developing affordable housing for 22 lakh urban families. The housing scheme will be developed over the next five years. The programme for rehabilitation will include slum dwellers and a subsidy of Rs 1 lakh to Lower Income Group (LIG) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) families. An interest subsidy of Rs 1 lakh will also be given to citizens, under the EWS and LIG category, who will be booking flats in schemes by private developers. A grant of Rs 50,000 will also be provided to each house of the economically weaker sections for development of urban infrastructure.The state government approved of the scheme according to which slum dweller will be given a 1BHK house of 25-30 sq meter in a four or six story apartment. The construction will possibly take place in the present locality itself. The government will be constructing houses on its own land if in case rehabilitation is not possible in the present locality. Under this rehabilitation package traders will be allotted 15 square meter of shop space.Families with annual income up to Rs 1 lakh are termed as Economically Weaker Section and families with annual income of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakhs are termed as Lower Income Group. Both the sections will be given apartment with carpet area of 31-50 sq meters. By 2013-14 the government hopes to cater to 40,000 such families. The cost of individual house will range between Rs 7-11 lakhs. The scheme will be funded by Rs 400 crore from the Mukhya Mantri Awas Samruddhi Yojana.The FSI for the scheme will be 3.0. A government statement said, “The maximum cost of a house for EWS families will not cross Rs 5 lakh and those for LIG families will not exceed Rs 12.5 lakh.” To avail the benefits of the scheme beneficiaries will have to register themselves under the UID scheme. займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
