15 Per Cent Drop in Net Office Space Absorption in First Half

officeBangalore: The first half of 2013 recorded decline in absorption of office space across the country. Total net absorption across top cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Pune was recorded at 10.9 million sq ft which declined by 15 per cent as compared to the same period last year.Sanjay Dutt, Executive Managing Director at Cushman & Wakefield said, “Although office space absorptions declined by 15 per cent year-on-year in the first half of 2013, second half has experienced greater year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter growth.”Sluggish economic growth has been the main reason behind decreased office absorptions in the first half of 2013. Slower economic growth has affected market sentiments which led to the decline in expansions by various companies.According to the Cushman & Wakefield report, Mumbai recorded the highest net absorption which was about 2.4 million sq ft with a decline of 10 per cent. Bangalore declined by 22 per cent with a net absorption of 1.8 million sq ft. Markets like NCR, Ahmedabad and Kolkata also saw great decline in absorption with drop of 42 per cent, 21 per cent and 52 per cent respectively.Only few cities recorded positive growth in net absorption in the first half of 2013. Pune recorded a growth of 37 percent and Chennai recorded a growth of 6 per cent in the first half of 2013.Sanjay Dutt also added that it is predicted that by the end of the year office space absorption will approximately reach 30 million sq ft with Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune office at the forefront in the second half of 2013.займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
