Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (Vuda) has started an online portal for obtaining approvals and permissions for construction of projects. Developers and builders have to obtain building permissions from the planning wing of the Urban Development Authority.Vuda vice-chairman N Yuvraj at the launch said that from henceforth applying for building permissions, changes in land use and layout approvals will only be accepted through this online facility. Applicants who wish to receive approvals for building constructions in Urban and Rural areas will have to submit their applications through the Vuda website only.The areas coming under the jurisdiction of the Vuda includes Srikakulam, Vizinagaram, East Godavari and Visakhapatnam which constitute to about 5,573 square kilometers.Earlier, application for building constructions, layout approvals etc were received manually and then submitted to the chief urban planner and at the end to the vice-chairman for final approval after going through various sublevels.Vuda has implemented this facility only in the planning wing, further the facility will expand its wings with other added services like issuing of sale permissions, no objection certificates and registrations etc which will also be made online.The application will be sent to the chief urban planner after the proper scrutiny and observations. If any shortfall is encountered in the application then the applicant will be informed by SMS or Email.
