Delhi Government Eases Construction Restriction on Agricultural Land

ease-of-normsNew Delhi: The Delhi government is about to ease its restrictions of using agricultural land for construction of residences and other construction activities. This decision is going to benefit lakhs of people living in rural Delhi. The decision was taken by the Delhi Cabinet on 15th June. As per the decision the government has issued a notification on 3rd July.At present the norms for using agricultural land are dictated in the Land Acquisition Act under Section 81. It clearly states that any land that is being used for agricultural purposes cannot be used for construction of houses or any other purpose. Lifting of the restrictions can open ways for the construction of flats on lands that yielded very insignificant profits from cultivation.A government official stated, “The decision to lift restriction in use of the agricultural land for construction of houses and other purposes under the Section 81 of the Land Reforms Act will benefit 165 villages.”Construction on agricultural lands has taken place in the past due to the desperation of farmers to ward off poverty. But those who had been caught by the revenue department of flouting the rules have been executed and many cases are pending in the court. The decision will help villagers to register their properties and construct buildings after the necessary approvals are obtained. The chief minister has already ordered the revenue department to withdraw the cases under Section 81 that are pending in court. From the political point of view the move is being seen as an effort to flatter the people to get their vote in the Delhi Assembly Election in November 2013.займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
