World’s largest service residence operator, Ascott has decided to introduce its luxury brand in India. The Singapore-based firm has already entered Indian market two years back with its brand name Citadines and Somerset.The company will be coming-up with its first project in Gurgaon and for funding purpose have tied up with Ireo private equity. The construction would be started by the end of this year and would start operating by 2016 or 2017. The fund company will be investing Rs. 250 crore to develop Ascott’s first project in Gurgaon. The project would be spread across 4 acre of land and would comprise of 220 units of branded residences along with retail space.The company says that it has a dedicated clientele in the corporate market and most of them are Fortune 500 companies. It may provide accommodation services to the top executives who are planning to stay for a period of 3 to 6 months. The serviced apartments will not have facilities like banquet hall, food and beverage services but the company assures that they may provide these facilities wherever needed in India.Ascott has spent $150 million for expansion of its brand in Indian market. The company said that instead of development of luxury hotels, they will stick to branded business residences and provide elite class services to the dwellers.Gurgaon is now looked upon as one of the finest commercial hubs of India.
