Kolkata: Delhi-based real estate company, Alchemist Township Ltd has bought 20 acres of Aerotropolis land in West Bengal which is developed by Bengal Aerotropolis Projects Ltd (BAPL) at Durgapur. This project would be Alchemist’s initial residential project in East India.According to a spokesperson, this real estate firm is planning to expand more and is focusing on providing affordable homes to the residents of Durgapur. Out of the numerous other residential projects, Durgapur Aerotropolis will be their prime project. The company is planning to construct affordable residents on 10 million sq. ft. area of Eastern India. Apart from Durgapur, the company will be laying its foundation in Bengal, Bihar, Orissa, Assam and Jharkhand. The Aerotropolis project is a substantial project by this group and they are keen to utilize 2.4 million sq. ft. area for housing. This project is a noteworthy landmark project both for the Alchemist Group as well as the BAPL.Aerotropolis which means an airport city is an urban development model that comprises of aviation intensive businesses and related enterprises.
