There is a hill station in Maharashtra known as Toranmal. This beautiful hill station is one of the coolest places situated in the lap of stunning Satpura hills in Akrani Taluka of Nandurbar district of Maharashtra state. It is reachable via Shahada in Maharashtra. People come here from three different states named Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat due to its strategic location and irresistible natural beauty along with religious significance.This hill station is actually a small plateau with an area of 41.43 square kilometres and is in shape of soccer. There is a water stream flows from south to north crossing the plateau and forms two charming lakes on both the sides. At its southern part Yashavant Lake is formed while at the northern corner the same brook creates Lotus Lake. These striking lakes at such a height add to the splendour of the place. The Yashavant Lake is spread over an area of 1.59 square kilometres with the maximum depth of 27 metres. The other lake is known Lotus Lake because it is always covered with exceptionally attractive lotus flowers. After the lake ends the stream goes towards the high cliff and falls from there into the deep hole known as Sita Khai. The same stream becomes an outstanding magnificent waterfall during the rainy season when the stream is in its full youth and jumps down with a strong roar. There are many tourists’attraction points here to explore like Yashavant Lake, Lotus Lake, Sunset point, Coffee Garden, Aawashabari Point, Machhindranath Gufa (Cave) , Nagarjun temple, Sat Payari (seven steps) View Point, Check Dam, Forest Park, Medicinal Plant Garden, Sita Khai, Gorakhnath Temple, Khadki Point, etc.The Khadki Point is the highest point of Toranmal hill and from the top the outstanding panoramic views can be enjoyed. The Gorakhnath Temple is an ancient beautiful temple. It is visited by hundreds of devotees on the occasion of Mahashivaratri from nearby states. The beauty of Toranmal lies in its unpolluted and unspoiled natural atmosphere. The half covered foggy top of mountains pleases your senses and takes away all the tiredness from your body.The approach roads are ok. The reaching path to Toranmal has dangerous ghat section. Thus it is advised to drive very carefully and only in daylight. On the way you get to see the abundant magnificence of nature in form of many waterfalls, green valley view and thick forests.
