Gurgaon: The Gurgaon Municipal Corporation is sending notice to its residents for the payment of property tax. But ironically the authority itself is falling weak in collecting the taxes from higher government officials. Strikingly, the property tax of from police commissioner’s office, deputy commissioner’s office and MCG commissioner’s residence is pending since 2008. The amount due that has to be collected is even more unbelievable than the news. Rs 4,61,381 from police commissioner’s office, Rs 59,925 against the MCG commissioner’s residence and Rs 12,43,601 from deputy commissioner’s office, which is really heavy tax.This is only what can be figured out. Multiple other government biggies and politicians too have escaped it. The taxes for these government buildings have to be paid by the state government but the officials at least have to take care of the dates and direct it accordingly. This is sheer negligence and improper behavior towards the corporation. On one side the residents were notified and imposed fine for late payment of taxes whereas the officials who run these authorities are themselves eluding from it.The date is however extended to June 30, looking at the current non-payment of taxes.
