Nashik: The Nashik Municipal Authority (NMA) is folding its sleeves to introduce the Local Body Tax (LBT) in the city. The Bombay high court has instructed the civic body to implement LBT within the deadline of 8 weeks (which is going to get end on May 20). It is expected that LBT will be effective from May 21. As the new tax has created chaos in the market and every mind is contemplating the effect of it on the market, CREDAI Nashik is also deciding a policy on the ways of paying LBT on total construction.LBT will be imposed on any kind of business that deals with goods. After LBT will come into effect, the city builders, contractors and other realty players carrying construction work in the city limits shall get them registered for the payment of LBT.CREDAI Nashik is finding out various ways of its payment. One being paying LBT on the value of goods imported for construction, whereas other being lump sum or single payment on total construction. CREDAI is still in discussion with its officials about the LBT payment options and yet not finalized which one to go with.LBT will be introduced as per guidelines given by the state government.
