Budget Friendly Homes in Bhubaneswar

BhubaneswarBhubaneswar: Very soon the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of the society and the Lower Income Group (LIG) residents of Bhubaneswar will be delighted with the launch of pocket friendly homes in this state. The state government in association with the private developers and Housing and Urban Development (H& UD) is planning to come up with 5,000 affordable homes.According to a report, required land area for the construction of affordable housing units in Gothapatna will be provided to the private builders by the state government. The final verdict will be published within 2 to 3 months.The report also added that the government is going to use 100 acre of land to erect affordable homes out of which 15 to 20 acres will be allocated to the developers who are initiating new projects. The Government is aiming to build homes for the EWS that earn income upto          Rs.7, 500 and LIG whose income ranges from Rs. 7,501 to Rs. 15,000.H&UD will be offering home that would cost around Rs. 3.5 lakh to Rs. 15 lakh. According to the Government policy, 75% of the total affordable housing units will be acquired by LIG and EWS and the remaining area will be left free as per building regulations. The Government alone may not be able to arrange funds for the affordable housing plan hence they are involving the private developers.The budget friendly housing plan will also be initiated in other locations like Cuttack, Berhampur, Sambalpur, Rourkela and Puri.The government is aiming to come up with 20,000 housing units per year for this section of society.
