Sobha Developers registered a total 30% hike in sales bookings in 2012-13 amounting to a massive income of Rs 2,215 crore. The company had sales of Rs 1,701 crore in 2011-12. Compared to the previous fiscal year sales have increased both in terms of volume as well as realization.In terms of volume Sobha had sold a total of 3.28 million sq ft of property in 2011-12 whereas in 2012-13 the company successfully sold 3.76 million sq ft of property. For the same fiscal term sales realization amounted to Rs 5,897 crore as compared to Rs 5,181 crore in the previous fiscal term.Sobha Developers has a strong presence in Delhi NCR, Pune, Chennai, Mysore and Coimbatore besides having a stronghold on Bangalore real estate. In 2012-13 Sobha has launched 2 projects in Bangalore, one in Coimbatore and one in Thrissur. This amounted to a total construction area of 2.64 million sq ft.The profit ensured that the company can protect its margins in spite of the rising input costs due to inflation. Officials also declared that the recent rate cut announced by the Reserve Bank of India is a step forward for the real estate concern as lower interest rates will immensely help the growth of real estate in the coming times.
