NDMCNew Delhi: It seems that the Municipal Corporation (NDMC) in each and every city in India has determined to upgrade its property tax collection efforts and this has hiked up property tax collection amounts in every city. This is especially true for Delhi where the New Delhi Municipal Council has registered a 33% increase in its property tax collection. The Municipal Council has collected a total amount of Rs 435 crore as property tax in the financial year 2012-13. The collection for the previous financial year had been Rs 325 crore. The municipal officials said that the progress had been made due to the finding and taxation of defaulters. “We attached the bank accounts of several properties on which taxes had not been paid for a while. Also, the HC has allowed NDMC to assess the tax based on UAM and recover the dues. For the first time, we have seen a jump of Rs 110 crore.” one official said while explaining how the task was achieved. In 2007 the civic agency had introduced the Unit Area Method for the payment of property tax. But many properties have not yet switched to the method. Among the approximately 12,000 property tax payers of about 9,000 have converted and are using the new method for paying taxes. The adoption of the new method by large properties like 5 star hotels, government buildings and corporate buildings will increase the amount of revenue collected by the agency. NDMC will strengthen its efforts of bringing in the defaulters.займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
