Gurgaon: The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has passed its proposal of allowing a rebate on the property tax. This proposal had been presented in the monthly housing meeting of the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) that took place last month. On Wednesday it was decided that the MCG will allow 50% rebate on property tax. According to the rebate property owners will now have to 50 p per sq yard instead of Re 1 per sq yard of property. Plot owners with plots measuring 2250 sq ft to 2700 sq ft will receive a 50% rebate and the owners of plots of 3150 sq ft to 4500 sq ft will receive a 40% rebate. Those owners with plots bigger than 4500 sq ft will get a 30% rebate. The MCG mayor Vimal Yadav said that keeping in mind the spiraling cost of living in the city the corporation has decided to lower property tax rates. This will bring immense relief to the residents who are already crushed under several other expenses.Property tax is the major source of income for the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon. But since its establishment in 2008 the MCG had been struggling to collect property taxes as most residents complained that they are not provided quality service by the MCG as the colonies they live in had been developed by private developers and they already have to pay these developers for the maintenance of these houses. Most residents are still refusing to pay the house tax. More that Rs 600 crore is due to the MCG in the form of property tax. The councilors owned up to the fact that the money paid by the residents is not in accordance with the service they receive. So it is only appropriate to give them a rebate on house tax than to burden them with the extra amount.MCG’s earlier proposed of linking property tax with trade licenses and fire NOCs (no-objection certificates) has been rejected. займ на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн
