Real Estate Development in Kopar Khairane, Navi Mumbai

Kopar Khairane is a node of Navi Mumbai built mostly on reclaimed land by CIDCO. It is at a distance of about 12 km from the Thane station and 7 km from Vashi railway station.Kopar Khairane is the fourth railway station on the Thane-Turbhe and the Nerul-Vashi Railway Line. The railway station is located in Sector 8A of the node and is accessible from both the Thane-Belapur Road on the eastern side and the Kopar Khairane node on the western side. Since Jan, 2009 there are 45 services on either side from Vashi and Thane. In fact, it takes less than twenty minutes to reach Thane. And also 16 services on either side have been started from Nerul and Thane. It now takes hardly 15 minutes to reach Nerul and about 40 minutes to reach Panvel. It is also adequately connected by bus to Mumbai and the other nodes of Navi Mumbai.There is now a demand for a new bridge over the Thane creek from Kopar Khairane to Vikroli, Mumbai off the eastern express highway so as to connect the eastern subursbs of Mumbai. This will establish a much desired third bridge linking Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.On the Thane-Belapur Road side of the station is located the enormous Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge Center City also known as DAKC, the headquarters of Reliance Communications. The Millennium Business Park (MBP) houses software consulting companies such as Patni Computer Systems, Mastek Ltd, L&T Infotech, L&T Control & Automation Unit etc. It also has huge residential projects such as Balaji Gardens.Kopar Khairane has two engineering degree colleges and one engineering diploma college.     The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) was formed on 17 March 1971, under the Indian Companies Act, 1956. It was given the mandate of converting about 344 square kilometres (133 sq mi) of marshy land lying between the village of Dighe in Thane district and the village of Kalundre of Raigad district into a new city. Navi Mumbai railway stations are built by CIDCO with a well prepared and formulated close by parts comercially.

    Vashi Bridge, was opened to the public for residents of Vashi, Belapur and Nerul. The Sion Panvel Expressway was constructed to reduce the time taken to travel from Sion to Panvel. Initially there was not much reaction to the new city. The 2.4 kilometres (1.5 mi) long Airoli Bridge was constructed over the Thane Creek between Airoli and Mulund, an eastern suburb of Mumbai.
