More Than 6000 New Apartments for Tamil Nadu

constructionThe explosion of population in the city Chennai has influenced the demand for homes. The city was already lagging in delivering the needed number of affordable homes and now this increase in population is building a high pressure. Hence in a solution to overcome this problem, the Tamil Nadu government is planning to construct 6,254 apartments in Chennai which will cost over Rs 1,740 crore.It is planned that the apartments that already exist in Peters Colony and Lloyds Colony in Royapettah and Thatender Nagar Phase I and II in Saidapet will be demolished and new and better apartments will be erected. The construction will take place in phases. The first phase will be a treat for government employees as 2,522 rental apartments are sanctioned for them. Also 1,770 apartments under the self – financing scheme are on the plan.It will be an intelligent and well planned development that will utilize very less area in comparison to the existing unplanned huge area. This will also help in lowering the unplanned urban development. All the developments will be done using latest technologies such that the commoners will get what is best available in the market.Due to this project, Chennai is becoming a role model for other cities in the state. The chief minister of the state has also allotted heavy money for the maintenance work of staff government quarters at Erode, Thanjavur, Tiruchirapalli, Madurai etc.
