This south facade of the SOL-aris Project is a carefully measured response to the hill. Through a series of layers and design elements a complex language, a sort of Goa Modern, is achieved. White walls, color washed \'set-in\' planes, local later-ite stone, wood frame and tile are the vocabulary for this language. Courtyards, lattice screens and the ubiquitous sloped roofs complete the picture.
The result is not only a refreshingly contemporary version of the traditional Goa mansion but a strong and potent anti-thesis to what is often referred to as Indo-Portuguese style. A style that is more often than not a mockery of the real thing.
SOL-aris presents itself to the hill, to the street and to the development within with a bold and confident elegance; one that is achieved through a sophisti- cated response to place, climate and culture.
