There are religious shrines of Hindus in Muslim dominated places on the other hand you can see Mosques in Hindu dominated areas and that is the beauty of our country. We have people belonging to different religions residing in the same place, city and state and thus their shrines as well. In Bangalore people love infant Jesus and then the need to have a church dedicated to Infant Jesus was felt. The wish was soon fulfilled by the grace of God and a pristine Church of Infant Jesus was established in the year 2005. This new place was much spacious than the old one which was pulled down in order to make a bigger shrine to accommodate large number of devotees. The new Church has a capacity of 2500 people and not to forget the car parking and sundry space. Now more people can offer prayers at one time in the church without worrying about their cars or other vehicles as the parking facility at this place is really good. The foundation stone for the new Infant Jesus Church was laid on 14th January 2002 by Rev. Fr. Dr. Ignatius Pinto along with the Archbishop of Bangaluru. The construction work took almost three and a half years and completed by June 2005. The church was inaugurated at 5.00 pm, on 9th June 2005 by the hands of Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, Archbishop of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bharatestates.com\/bangalore\/real-estate\" target=\"_blank\">Bangaluru<\/a>.This beautiful Infant Jesus Church is designed keeping in mind the fact that each devotee should be able to see the altar no matter where he or she is standing whether inside or outside the church. The church is designed by architects Thomas Associates. The structure of the church has nine faces and openings all around the building. The fan shaped hall is quite practical and looks inviting. The most important part of church is its 6&#215;9 meter mural which is said to be the replica of nativity scene from the nativity church of Jerusalem. The speciality of the design of the church is that everyone feels like the altar is facing them whether they are near it or far from it. The dais is raised above the ground level and steps are provided on both the sides.The grand site of the church is welcoming devotees and visitors from all walks of life to get the blessings of Infant Jesus. Devotees here believe in the miraculous powers of the Jesus. There is no dress code so one can wear whatever he or she likes to wear while visiting the church. You may find small vendors and beggars outside the church making noise. Reaching here is not difficult at all as buses, taxies or private vehicles can be used to reach here. If you are a visitor then avoid Thursdays as it the day Infant Jesus and you may find too much crowd here throughout the day. Inside the church you need to maintain silence.<strong>Timings of\u00a0 the Church<\/strong>The church opens at 5.30 am but one can enter the church on or after 8.00 am.
