\"Solar-Power\"Three municipal and civic structures in Ahmedabad are going to make use of solar energy, to meet their day-to-day energy requirements, till the year ends.These three offices of AMC (Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation) situated in the southern part of Maninagar Area in Ahmedabad, western part of Usmanpura area of Ahmedabad and compound of Memco Sports in Ahmedabad are using rooftop solar power. The main objective of AMC (Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation) for using solar energy instead of electricity is to show that proper utilization of solar energy can ensure long term savings.Solar Energy is also a beneficial alternative for the people who can now purchase the solar energy at cheaper rates as compared to electric power supply whose rates and costs have soared over a long period.Plans to construct a solar energy plant having a capacity of generating two hundred kilo watts or two hundred mega watts of solar energy at Municipal Corporation Office of Memco Sports Complex is under the pipeline. In Western region of municipal corporation office, well designed plans to construct a solar energy plant having a capacity of generating 15 kilo watts of solar power is underway. A Power Plant generating 20 Kilo Watts of Solar energy would also be constructed for the office of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation situated in the southern area of Maninagar, Ahmedabad.Thus AMC (Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation) wants to convey the message to the people of Ahmedabad that the use of solar energy would not only save the earth from the energy crises but would also prove to be cost effective.
