According to the sources, the no-construction zone around the Okhla Bird Sanctuary is finally been decided by the Centre at the radius of 100 mts. The final notice will be issued within few days. Eventually, the residential projects in this surrounding area will be out of the restricted zone.The announcement was made after the MPs meeting with the environment minister where homebuyers\u2019 association representatives also participated. A legal procedure will be carried out to pass the final notice. The minister assured that this notification will decrease the eco-sensitive zone around the Okhla Bird Sanctuary and aid the homebuyers who were facing financial loss due to halt in construction activity. It will also be made sure that none of the real estate projects gets adversely affected.When the National Green Tribunal isolated 10 kms around the bird sanctuary as eco-sensitive zone then most of the homebuyers had to suffer from this decision. Around 1 lakh residential units were constructed while 30,000 flats were already fully ready to be delivered.According to the CREDAI President of the NCR chapter, the new notification will definitely bring a sigh of relief for the homebuyers as well as the real estate builders. At last the builders can get the completion certificates for the projects and the buyers would be able to register their flats.
