The government is planning to incur increased power and water charges from the citizens who own such properties.Hyderabad already has provisions in water and power tax and also property tax to incur fine from the unsafe properties by increasing their charges. This has helped the city government to ensure that the construction observes the safety norms. Even in Greater Noida, only the licensed builders are permitted to perform the construction process by obeying the building regulations. Construction license will be cancelled of any builder who violates the rule.The chief secretary has asked for instructions for putting together the technical cum legal laws like that of Greater Noida and Hyderabad. He has also requested the corporation to issue notices that notifies the citizens about the earthquake prone zones. The issued notices will also clearly put forward that the property owners who do not follow the construction safety measures or the building bylaws will be held responsible for the awkward incident. The corporation has informed the government that this drive is initiated to take action against the defaulters.Many lives have been lost due to such poor structural safety rules in recent years; therefore the government has decided to take strict action against such defaulter builders.
