\"amc\"<\/a>Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) fails to identify all new properties launched in the city from which property tax can be collected. The civic body was able to spot only few properties in the current financial year. According to sources, if the Municipal Corporation moves in this speed in assessing the properties then it may have to undergo massive revenue losses.On the basis of this uncertain situation, a senior AMC official said that there are around 5,000 properties which get launched each year but however in this present fiscal year the civic body managed to identify only 900 properties in the city.The tax assessment officer said that from April to June 18th, AMC finished off with assessment proposals of 900 properties and levied tax. Following with the current speed, the civic body would be able to add more 3,000 new properties by the end of fiscal year. However it may not reach its target. The properties which were identified so far includes commercial and residential.As per the records presented by AMC, the amount of commercial and residential properties is around 1.72 lakh however as per the sources there are over 40,000 to 50,000 properties which are still not spotted for tax payment.As compared to last year the number of unidentified new properties has gone up considerably in Aurangabad. The AMC had always thought to come up with some new process for tax collection, it had planned to appoint college students for tax collection but the proposal is awaiting for approval.
