\"nashik-propoerty-tax\"<\/a>Nashik: <\/b>The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has linked property tax with building completion certificate (BCC). The linking of property tax with building completion certificate (BCC) has gained 12,384 new property tax payers in the current fiscal year for the NMC.Nashik Municipal Corporation has connected the town planning and property tax departments for sharing BCC information with an aim to improve revenue generation coming through property tax. Under this linked system, the town planning department immediately informs the property tax department about the newly issue building completion certificate.The BCC is given by the town planning department to the buildings which complete their construction period by approval of all the relevant authorities. Once the BCC is issued notification sent to property tax department can immediately commence property tax assessment of the newly constructed building in the corporation limits.The town planning department has issued about 2450 buildings in the city which comprises about 12384 units, and with this the property tax department has started charging property tax on these buildings. The main reason behind this new system is to create better revenue in Nashik Municipal Corporation through property tax assessment.This system will also enable NMC to easily rack all the property tax defaulters in the city, such defaulters will be issued warrants stating that they should pay property tax within 21 days from the warrant issuance date.At current, the NMC has about 3.79 lakh properties situated in six divisions of the municipal corporation.
