\"kolkata-skyline\"<\/a>Kolkata: <\/b>Howrah Municipal Corporation has announced a partial waiver for property <\/b>tax as well as commercial tax. The decision of partial waiver was announced on March 4, 2014 to boost the revenue of the municipal corporation. Under this waiver scheme, no penalty or interest will be levied, so property owners will never need to pay any penalty or interest.Kolkata Municipal Corporation has already enforced such schemes and has been benefited through the same scheme. The Howrah mayor Rathin Chakraborty said that this scheme has very good benefits and the same will happen if implemented in Howrah.The last board which was lead by other front had tax default of around Rs 200 crore. The state government is supporting to the Howrah Corporation but Mayor said that Howrah Municipal Corporation must be independent and self-sufficient. The outstanding taxes will be covered in the coming time but without putting any burdon on civilians.Similar Tax waiver was also came in action in Hyderabad which was issued by its government on March 1, 2014.
