Well, Hobbits are fictional characters and even their home were part of the film set but the style of homes in which they dwelled are for real. It may seem unbelievable but such kind of houses does exist. You can witness this architectural wonder in Switzerland. Vetsch Architektur, a construction firm based in Zurich has designed many such earth houses across Switzerland. Earth House Estate L\u00e4ttenstrasse in Dietikon, a stunning project by Peter Vetsch is an eco-friendly residential venture that has been built into the ground and stands out from the rest of the customary architecture styles. These sorts of homes are designed specially to protect the natural environment. The way these residences are constructed and located, it is really difficult to spot the location of the site for those who come looking for it. There are around nine earth houses with a beautiful artificial lake in the midst. In terms of insulation, these underground homes make a lot of sense. According to the architect, the aim of this project is not constructing homes on top of nature but building architecture subordinate to and integrated with nature.<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bharatestates.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/earth-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-27746\" alt=\"earth-2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bharatestates.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/earth-2.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a>Project Specification:<\/strong>The exquisite and exclusive residential arrangement in Switzerland is completely contrast to the neighborhood single family abodes. These secret underground residences may appear like small cozy huts from outside but they are indeed spacious and contemporary design living spaces. Earth Houses are built on the total area of 43,055 sq ft. There are nine residences where three of the homes consist of 6 rooms, other three consist of three rooms and remaining three homes consist of seven, four and five rooms respectively. The bedroom is located at the north of the setting while the living room is present in the south. Bathrooms are constructed at the basement. Round shaped wall are best to experiment with variety of interior decorations. These dwelling units are completely energy-efficient. Even the lowest levels of the residences receive ample of natural light. The wide glass facades make all the rooms brighter during the daytime. The homes remain cool even in summer which avoids the usage of air-conditioners on the other hand it remains cool in warm in summers, so heaters are also of no use. There is a private space for growing vegetation within your property area on the roof. To more advantage these underground residences also have subterranean parking space that is built with conventional methods. The homes are insulated by a recycle foamed glass layer and to make the entire thing waterproof, root-resistant polymer bitumen is fixed to the shotcrete. Unlike the conventional constructions which require flat land, earth houses can be conveniently built on hilly terrains.Vetsch Architektur has come-up with many such earth houses around the world but most of them are present in Switzerland.
