With an elevation of 451.9 meters, the structure stands amongst the top ten tallest structures around the world. Pair of skyscrapers is completely commercial use structure, built to house the headquarters of Petronas, the national petroleum company of Malaysia which was completed in the year 1998. The Petronas Towers remained on top of the list of the tallest towers in the world for the whole six years since its completion until the year 2004 when Taipei 101 was completed. The marvelous structure was designed by Argentine born American architect C\u00e9sar Pelli, the development of the twin towers was conceptualized to mirror the country\u2019s high tech ambitions and represent it in the world\u2019s map with an outstanding landmark. The best part of the structure is that it consist two identical towers spanning over the same vertical height to become the tallest towers in the Malaysia. Both tower house 88 floors of the commercial spaces and are connected by the mid air sky bridge between the 41st and 42nd floors.<b>Architecture of the structure<\/b>Although the identical verticals of the towers make it different from all the other structures across the world, the architectural design and techniques used to shape these buildings is the actual marvel in the overall structure. The structure was completely conceptualized by renowned architecture C\u00e9sar Pelli with distinctive postmodern style to create a 21st century contemporary architectural icon making a huge mark on the skyline of the world. The structure took seven years for the completion of 88 storey occupiable space along with pinnacle of steel spire. Each tower consist an eight-lobed structure and it is supported by 16 large columns around its perimeter made of high-strength, steel-reinforced concrete and the exterior casing of the structure is made of steel and glass.The fa\u00e7ade design of the structure is highly influenced by the Islamic art, showing a reflection of Malaysia\u2019s Muslim religion. The fa\u00e7ade of the structure consist 83500 square meters of stainless steel extrusions along with 33000-panel wall cladding within towers. The stainless steel element in the fa\u00e7ade of the structure illuminates the tower with illustrious sun reflecting over it. The structure also contains laminated glass which helps reduce the overall heat by reflecting the harmful UV rays coming from the sun. The pinnacle of the each tower is an aesthetic feature of the structure which enhance the beauty of the structure and are designed with immense modern day safety precautions.<b>Unique fact of the Towers<\/b>Each tower\u2019s elevation itself is a unique aspect in the structure, but other than the Sky Bridge connected two towers mid air is the most amazing attraction of the overall structure which provides you a hazy, panoramic view of the Malaysia\u2019s skyline. The Sky Bridge is the highest double decker sky bridge in the world which connects two towers at 41st and 42nd floor to give an easy access to both towers. The actual wonder of the bridge\u2019s structure is that it is not attached to the main structure of the towers, but instead it slide in and out of the towers so that it can be prevented from breaking during high winds.Being the tallest towers in the country, traveling up and down in each tower is supported by the modern age lift banks situated at the center of each tower. The lifts are mostly double decker where lower deck of the lift takes passengers to the even numbered floors while upper deck takes passenger to the odd numbered floors.The twin towers of Petronas are the astounding design structures which highly influences the overall skyline of the Kuala Lumpur city along with Kuala Lumpur tower.
