Affordable homes are now mostly being developed in the city outskirts. Due to the limited availability of space, the property prices in Pune <\/a>have escalated drastically hence most of the developers have shifted their focus to the city peripherals or even more distant localities.The areas which were once looked upon as the rural parts of Pune, has now become the new destination for affordable housing projects. Currently, a known real estate company of Pune<\/a>, Gokhale Constructions has announced its new residential project, Briz which will be developed in Pirangut, located on the west of Pune. According to the developer of this realty firm, the land for developing affordable housing project within the city area is unavailable; therefore they are targeting the peripheral areas for budget-friendly housing projects.City outskirts and distant locations such as Pirangut<\/a> which is 20 km away from Pune city, Wagholi, located on the north of city or Shirwal, in south of Pune have become the most sought after locations for the development of affordable projects. The well known property consulting company, Jones Lang LaSalle India\u2019s Managing Director of Pune said that since the prime locations of Pune are getting more expensive, day by day, real estate developers of mid-income projects are slowly shifting their focus to the budding locations of the city where there is sufficient land available and the land prices are also reasonable.Vastushodh Projects Private Limited is planning to develop affordable housing projects on the excess land of the industrial establishments.
