In Maharashtra, Lord Ganesha is worshiped by a majority of population and that is why you will find thousands of splendid ancient shrines of lord Ganesha at different places in the state. One such holy shrine is situated in Anjarle which is a very beautiful town in Konkan area. Anjarle is famous for its very significant ancient Ganesh temple, its serene environment and unspoiled beach. The major attraction in this small village is the Ganesh Temple known as Kadyawarcha Ganpati. This temple is situated on a cliff of hill. Now let me tell you why this holy shrine is so popular. This temple is quite ancient and was initially constructed in the mid of twelfth century probably in the year 1150.At that time the temple structure was standing on wooden pillars but due to climatic conditions and its significance for devotees it was decided to restore and renovate the structure so that it can stand for a longer period of time. Thus the temple structure is renovated between 1768 and 1780. In the old times to reach the shrine people used to cross the Anjarle creek on the Jog River and then climb the hill via Anjarle village. But today a small bridge is built that will help you cross the creek easily and then you can take the road that is also constructed so that you can take your vehicle up to the hill to the temple entrance. It is now easy to reach the temple.The main deity in this magnificent centuries old temple is Lord Ganesha<\/a>. The Ganesh idol situated in this shrine is of rare type because he is having the trunk on his right side. It is believed that this sort of idols of Ganesha is very rare and he is known as Ujwya Sondecha Ganpati. It is also strongly believed by devotees that the Ganesha in this temple is a live god who listens to the problems of his devotees and helps them. Just in front of the temple you will find a pond filled with fish and turtles. Kids love to watch them more than visiting the temple. There is another shrine here dedicated to Lord Shiva. Though it is smaller than the Ganesh temple but worth paying a visit. The stone steps at the right side of the Ganesh temple take you to the top of dome of temple. From the top of the hill one can enjoy the panoramic view of the surroundings, dense trees of coconut, betel nuts and others apart from the spectacular Suvarnadurg Fort and the splendid Arabian Sea.This natural nest of Anjarle is also blessed by a serene beach. The two kilometres long secluded beach here is quite peaceful and clean one to enjoy and relax. The silvery white sand and the lines up palm trees in the surrounding makes the beach more attractive than any other place. It is an outstanding experience to enjoy sunset at this pristine green beach which is usually not at all crowded. It can be a perfect one day destination to relax, enjoy and rejuvenate for you and your family.Accommodation<\/strong>As this place is not on the popular tourists’ places list of Maharashtra tourism, that is why you won’t find any hotel or resort here to stay but you have the option to rent a place from locals who are helpful as well as friendly.
