\"haryana-govt-housing-policy\"Chandigarh<\/strong>: The Haryana government has been doing a lot to successfully implement affordable housing schemes<\/a> in the state, especially in Chandigarh. On 13th September 2013, the local MP Pawan Kumar Bansal highly complimented the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) on doing a very good job at the implementation of the rehabilitation scheme in Chandigarh. He said he will take up the issue of affordable housing for the residents of Chandigarh with the Chandigarh Administration. Bansal urged the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) to look into the matter of developing affordable housing for government employees and other residents of Chandigarh for whom affordable housing has not yet been developed.On Saturday the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, handed over the keys to the beneficiaries of the Dhanas slum rehabilitation scheme. The beneficiaries received newly constructed one room flats at Dhanas. These flats had been constructed under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewable Mission (JNNURM). The flats will accommodate approximately 40,000 people. The construction of around 25,000 flats had been approved by the Union ministry of housing and urban poverty alleviation for the rehabilitation facility of Chandigarh slum dwellers.Bansal had been speaking at this function when he made the above mentioned request to the CHB. He congratulated the Chandigarh administration on the construction of the flats and said that initiatives like this will lead to a slum free Chandigarh.
