The idol is placed in such a way that during February and November, the sunrays fall directly on the statue. Almost 400 years old temple is said to have a Ganesh idol that is swayambhu (self-originated). Every year thousands of people visit this holy place and take the blessings of Lord Ganesh. The idol here is known as the Navsacha Ganpati (genuinely prayed wish gets fulfilled). Hence the small temple slowly got evolved to a Grand temple where right from common man to politicians, film stars all come and pay respect to this delightful deity. Unlike most of the Ganesh idols, Siddhi Vinayak has a trunk twisted towards right which is said to be powerful. Every year, the temple grosses almost Rs. 50 crore.Location: The temple is located in one of the most happening localities of Mumbai, Prabhadevi.Rockfort Ucchi Pillayar Temple, Tamil Nadu:After defeating Raavan, Lord Ram had gifted statue of Lord Ranganatha to Vibhishna (brother of Raavan) as he had helped the Lord. While returning back to Lanka, Vibhishna thought of bathing in a river which was present near Trichy. Ram had warned Vibhishna not to land the idol until he reaches Lanka or else the idol will get fixed where he places. Vibhishna saw a fat boy near river and asked him to hold the idol till he returns from bath. Lord Ganesh was disguised as that boy. As he was an Asura( demon), Ganesh doubted on him and purposely landed the idol at the foothill. Seeing this Vibhishna attacked the boy. He caught the boy at the hilltop where the boy revealed his identity. After knowing this Vibhishna apologized to lord. The place where Ganpati was found is called as Ucchi Pilliyar where the temple is present. This is the story behinf this famous temple.Location: Ucchi Pilliyar is located in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. The hilltop temple offers you panoramic views of Kaveri and Kolidam rivers.Kadalekalu Ganesha, Karnataka:The 18 feet Kadlekalu Ganesh is tallest Ganpati idol in Karnataka. According to legend King Hameer, a true disciple of Lord Ganesh fought with Ala-ud-din Khilji. The war went too long. King Hameer wanted to end the war, one night he saw Lord Ganesh in his dream in which the god promised to solve all his problems, next day morning when he woke up he saw Trinetra idol (three-eyed) idol of lord Ganesh on one of the fort walls and as promised by Lord Ganesh, the war got over.
