The festival took its social <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bharatestates.com\/blog\/ganesh-utsav-in-pune\/\" target=\"_blank\">roots in Pune city<\/a> in the independent India with an initiative from the legend Lokamanya Tilak who socialized the festival to use it to fight against the British. The grocery list must be created much before the actual festival date to make it easy to create sweets and pakwans for the festival. You can also create a schedule for the everyday Prasad with different sweet for everyday. It is said that lord Ganesha loves Modak; you can create it on your own or buy them from sweet shops.The first day and the last day of the festival has maximum importance, many people plan to wear special clothes for these occasion.
