Having pet like birds, fishes is not a big deal but if you are planning to adopt a dog or cat as your pet then there are some issues which you need to tackle. Not everybody in your apartment society will be animal-lovers; therefore you need to take special care so that like you even your neighbors accept your pet. If you are living in a community, it becomes essential that you take care of the members of the society. Bringing a pet into an apartment comes with lot of responsibilities, right from choosing suitable breed to committee approval, as a pet owner you have to pay attention to all the details that is related to bringing a pet in society.<em>Once you have decided to adopt a pet and bring home one then below are the factors that you need to focus on:<\/em><strong>Society committee approval:<\/strong>Before bringing home a pet it is necessary that you first inform to your housing society\u2019s managing committee. You need to take permission of the committee. Check if the society permits canine ownership, if it does then there may be couple of regulations that will be mentioned in the pet policy agreement that you may need to follow and agree upon. Check if the society charges certain amount as pet rent, if yes then gather all the details beforehand. Normally pet rent is uncommon feature in housing societies of our country.<strong>Choose breed wisely:<\/strong>It is the most important factor that has to be considered. The pet which you will bring home will become member of your family as well as society, so opt for a pet that is gently accepted by your neighbors. Choose a pet that is well-suited for your apartment. Some pets are noisy and restless, avoid choosing such kind of pets. Low and medium energy dogs like pug, paniel, dachshund or bulldog are suitable for apartments. There are even some birds that are quite loud and which may disturb the neighbors. You can go for lovebirds or macaws that look attractive as well as are apartment-friendly. Before opting for a pet the main point which you need to consider is the floor-level. If you are living on ground or first floor than there is no issue as you can comfortable take your pets on walks or bathroom breaks but if you are live in upper levels then avoid bringing pets that require to visit outdoors frequently.<strong>Take care of your pets on common premises:<\/strong>When you take your pets for walk in common society areas like gardens, until and unless it is fully trained restrict its movements. Even if your pets are friendly, your society members or children may get scared or hurt themselves by running away. So don\u2019t let your pets free for safety of both neighbors and pet. Train you pet properly so that it is easily accepted by the housing society. Make sure that your pet does not unnecessarily yell or pounce on any person. Introduce your pet to your neighbors. Socializing your pets will be advantageous.<strong>Timely vaccination:<\/strong>A healthy and energetic pet will be happily accepted in the society. If your pet is dull or infected, people may run away from it and it may affect your health too. Hence feed your pet with healthy food and conduct check-ups at regular basis.
