The ministry of Urban Development India extended the term of JNNURM for 2 more years as it has several ongoing projects\/reforms. The Government has also approved sanctions of new projects up to March 31, 2014.The statement about the increase of tenure of JNNURM was given by the Urban Development Minister, Kamal Nath in written form for a question in the Lok Sabha.The JNNURM will serve for an extra two years in which it will complete all ongoing projects under the JNNURM scheme across the country along with few newly sanctioned projects. The JNNURM has not been able to develop the amenities and facilities in various cities with proper pace as the urbanization rate of such cities is increasing exponentially.The 2011 census suggest that the population of the cities increased to 377 million with the growth rate of 2.766 per cent per annum. Continuously increasing population has been the major obstacle in the development plans of the JNNURM scheme which led to delay in projects under JNNURM scheme.The Central Government provides assistance to different State Governments for the urban development in the cities and improvement of basic amenities in cities and towns. Number of schemes and projects are run by the Central Government under Ministry of Urban Development which provides better living and infrastructure in the urban areas.The Central government operates various schemes for the urban development which includes Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), Urban Infrastructure Development in Satellite Towns (UIDSST), and Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns (UIDSSMT), etc.<span style=\"left:100%;display:inline-block;position:fixed\"><a href=\"http:\/\/rusbankinfo.ru\/\">\u0437\u0430\u0439\u043c \u043d\u0430 \u043a\u0430\u0440\u0442\u0443 \u0431\u0435\u0437 \u043e\u0442\u043a\u0430\u0437\u043e\u0432 \u043a\u0440\u0443\u0433\u043b\u043e\u0441\u0443\u0442\u043e\u0447\u043d\u043e<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/rusbankinfo.ru\/credits.html\">\u0432\u0437\u044f\u0442\u044c \u043a\u0440\u0435\u0434\u0438\u0442 \u043e\u043d\u043b\u0430\u0439\u043d<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) completed its work term of seven years on March 31, 2012.
