Sharing and caring, this policy works best with neighbors. So what about sharing your backyard with the neighbor? Due to urbanization, very less room is left for developing green spaces, not every home can have a huge garden. In such a situation sharing your backyard can be a good option. This will not only increase the size of your backyard but also will develop good relationship with them. It is a better choice if you have kids to play or want to make friends with your neighbor. Most of the people are breaking down the fences and opting to share their garden space. Sharing a backyard may not be as easy as it seems. It involves various issues and proper planning. You may even have to sign an agreement before entering into the sharing policy.So let\u2019s discuss how to create a shared space that all can adore and enjoy:<strong>Share responsibilities:<\/strong>Sharing comes with responsibilities. If you plan to share your backyard then you need to share the responsibilities too. Decide who will do what and share your duties accordingly. Choose what and who will plant, who will water the plants, who will take care of the plants, who will clean the space, who will organize any entertainment programs. Delegate the responsibilities. You can change your roles and take up the responsibilities chance by chance. Sharing will increase co-ordination. As each responsibility is connected to each other, you need to work as a team.<strong>Gardening:<\/strong>As you will be having a common backyard this will increase the space, hence you can grow more trees and plants. From sweet and sour grapes to red tomatoes and fragrant roses, you can grow your favorite fruits and vegetables and enjoy your share. You can plant colorful flowers and enhance the look of your backyard. Water the plants regularly. If one person forgets to water, the other should take up the job after all it is your backyard.<strong>Entertainment:<\/strong>Instead of community hall, you can arrange any outdoor get-together or programs in backyard. You can arrange for a combined barbeque party where you can invite your friends or relatives or organize birthday parties or any other small function where your neighbors will be invited. Each of you can plan up for something that could be fun and enjoyable. This will create a good bond with your next door friends. You can also incorporate games such as see-saw, swing or slide for children\u2019s pleasure.<strong>Personal space:<\/strong>Though you are sharing your space, you can always ask for some private time where you can have your family get-togethers or just relax without any disturbance. Before you plan to share the backyard, you discuss these points. You can also inform your neighbors well before about having your space for sometime. If you have shared the space, surely your neighbors won\u2019t have problem if you use it for a while.<strong><\/strong><strong>No more sharing situation:<\/strong>In situations like your neighbor is shifting or a new neighbor is moving in or a fight with neighbor, you might want your space back. Therefore to handle this state tactfully a simple and straightforward contract should be made which can be presented when required.Make sure the contract for sharing the backyard should contain all the imperative points and both the parties should agree to these rules so that in future it does not create any problem or hurt the sentiments of your neighbor.
